Medherant is developing transdermal patches for the following therapeutic indications:
Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV)
Most treatments for CINV require cancer patients to take tablets or capsules. Using a patch will make it easier for patients to take their medication when they are feeling nauseous and will ensure that they receive their full dose. If CINV is not adequately treated patients may not be able to receive their next dose of chemotherapy.
Many elderly patients have difficulty remembering to take all their tablets or capsules and some have difficulty swallowing. A patch can improve compliance with treatment as it will reduce the number of oral doses that have to be taken and it can more easily be administered by a carer or the patient.
